Default A Quick Question

I found this in the warrior guide on wiki: "Two sets of armor, infused with a Rune of Vigor in the chest piece, and a Rune of Absorption in the leggings." Does it matter where you put the vigor rune and the absorption rune? Runes are all global, so what if I switch the two up or even put them on the feet, hands, or helm? Thanks in advance.

No, it doesn't matter at all.

Absorption IS global...

The reason why there was a huge price drop was because we didn't know what the hell it did back then (people thought it was local and bought five of the runes to place on their armors, it didn't show how much damage reduction each had, etc), AND there was the increased drop rates.

Runes are, and always have been, global. Insignia are local, although some of the armor prefixes have previously had global effects. For example, one piece of Knight's armor for warrior provided global damage reduction regardless of where it was placed. ANet fixed that bug after more than 18 months.

The reason Superior Absorption has drastically decreased in value is that the amount of drops was greatly increased with the release of Factions, and Absorption was changed to physical damage only. It used to affect all damage that was affected by armor.

Eh? Most of us knew this because of testing people had done (generally done with Wild Blow and two guilds participating in a GvG "match" where both had agreed before hand to do some testing) - just as we knew one piece of Knights armor had a global damage reduction and did not stack as you added more pieces (it now is armor piece specific).

This was fairly well known on boards when I first started the game about two months after release. The price for a Sup Absorption rune stayed right around 100k until the 04-26-2006 update (sup vigor runes also got the same treatment. I find it hard to believe that people who are going to plunk down 500k for runes *didn't* know that they were global.

Unless you are talking about a different price drop? However the update that added the in-game description that said "global" was in 1-19-06 (both dates are from the wiki archive of updates).

So... GWG somehow now accounts for the entire playerbase? If anything, most players don't bother looking up fansites (especially back then, when it was still being discovered/collated) to get the correct information, which was why you found some people spouting wrong information. Even now, people still spout wrong information at times even though you can easily find the correct info.

Also, adding global is still ambiguous, since it doesn't indicate its 'non-stacking' property. Anyway, I missed the all -> physical damage reduction change in my post as well.

It doesn't really matter. The reason they say that is because the usual habit for organizing your pvp armor is weapon mastery rune on your helm and vigor rune on your chest.

Doesn't matter, but it isn't advisable to put them on your helm as it makes switching weapon lines more of a hassle.
